The division Informatics with five research groups and the division Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics with three research groups. It counts 212 members among which are 19 professors. The department has an outstanding record with regard to international publications. Role in the Project Research of the K. U. Leuven regards the design, implementation, evaluation and integration of a question answering system for interrogating multimedia data. In addition, it will study the indexing requirements and architecture needed for the question answering.
