Space Applications Services NV is an independent company founded in 1987 whose aim is to be a leading provider of system and operations engineering as well as software engineering expertise in the field of space and aerospace and to apply these capabilities to industrial applications. We have also established a subsidiary company in Houston United States of America, which focuses on Human Centred System Engineering. Our main business covers manned and unmanned spacecraft and launch/re-entry vehicles programmes, air traffic management and robotics. Our core competencies can be summarized as:

Space Applications participates in European RTD activities including the EC 6^th Framework Program, INTUITION Network of Excellence for Virtual Reality & Virtual Environment Applications for Future Workspaces, AD4: 4D Virtual Airspace Management System, ROBOT@CWE – Collaborative Work Environment.

Role in the Project

In particular Space Applications Services has developed a series of small footprint, high performance knowledge management technologies which when integrated together provide a corporate knowledge management solution. It is a derivative of this technology that will be applied in this project.
