Supélec, short for “Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité” is one of France's prestigious Grandes Ecoles, one of the top in its field of electrical and computer engineering. Founded in Paris in 1894, the school is organized in a three-campus network, located in Gif-sur-Yvette on the outskirts of Paris, Rennes in Brittany and Metz in Lorraine. Supélec has approximately 1500 graduate students and 170 PhD students.

Role in the Project

Metz-based SID group (Distributed Information Systems) has a strong background in knowledge engineering, ontologies, pattern recognition, and distributed computing. Metz-based STS group (Signal Processing Systems) has expertise in audio, image, video and speech processing and particularly in statistical signal processing with applications to image coding, speech and speaker recognition, multimedia segmentation and indexation, gesture recognition, object detection and scene analysis.
